Rohit Kandala

Data Scientist

Rohit Kandala is a Data Scientist who uses data to explore and explain complex social phenomena. His interest in media and its societal impacts began in undergrad, where he analyzed protest data and wrote a senior thesis titled Make History Accessible: The Case for YouTube. The thesis argued that humanities professors could renew interest in their fields by making their course materials available on YouTube. Most recently, Rohit worked on the Harris Presidential Campaign’s Internal Polling Team, where he managed a survey end-to-end analyzing how recent news coverage shaped public perception and shifted the state of the race. Previously, he was a Political Consultant focused on managing large-scale digital advertising campaigns aimed at persuading and mobilizing voters. He has also served as a graduate-level Research and Teaching Assistant, and has led student policy organizations, particularly those centered on technology policy. Rohit holds a Master of Science from the University of Chicago in Computational Analysis and Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Philosophy, and Communications from the University of Connecticut. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, traveling, and generally spending time outdoors.
