Rob Avruch brings a decade of experience bridging narrative strategy, philanthropy, and movement infrastructure. As Director of Strategy & Practice at Harmony Labs, he leads complex partner initiatives and shapes organizational strategy to translate research into actionable impact across networks of funders, creators, and media partners. Previously, as a Senior Program Officer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, he built a housing justice narrative portfolio that shifted discourse and seeded narrative coalitions across California. His career spans electoral organizing, issue advocacy, and grantmaking—always focused on how stories create the conditions for systemic change. Rob co-chairs the Investment and Philanthropy Peer Group at the Impact Guild and serves on the board of the Civic Space Foundation. When not thinking about narrative power, he's in San Francisco with his husband Steven, their poodle Aura, and their extremely opinionated Burmese cat, Jaco.
