Mary Joyce has worked at the intersection of digital media, strategy, and social change for the past ten years. Before Harmony Labs, Mary was co-founder and program manager of the Digital Activism Research Project at the University of Washington (UW). Previously, she was New Media Operations Manager for President Obama’s 2008 campaign and also founded the social change strategy firm Do Big Good. Mary is the author of Digital Activism Decoded and has traveled globally to speak and give workshops on the use of digital media for social change. Her graduate training is in public policy, communication, and nonviolent civil resistance, with studies undertaken at the Harvard Kennedy School, UW, and Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, respectively. Mary has lived in Morocco, India, Chile, Ghana, and a number of cities in the US and currently splits her time between New York and Seattle. When not at work, you can find her on urban bike trails, watching British crime shows, and participating in intentional communities.
